Hey guys! We just got back from Colorado and I have lots of updated photos to share of the Silverton building, but I’m going to save them for another post. Today I wanted to make sure you know about the 2017 Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts.
The house officially opened this Sunday April 23rd and will stay open for tours through May 21st, 2017. I was lucky enough to see it early this year with a press pass, and it’s definitely worth a visit!
This Tudor style show house was built in 1916 for actor Samuel Hinds, who was best known for playing Peter Bailey (the father’s of James Stuart’s character) in the movie It’s A Wonderful Life. More recently the house has served as a set for several movies including one of this year’s Oscar nominees, La La Land.Another beautiful space is the Bee Keepers Retreat designed by Rose Thicket: Botanical Design House. It is located out in the gardens and it’s gorgeous right down to final details!
I have to admit I’m a little bummed for not taking more photos once I was inside. To be honest I was so overwhelmed by all the beautiful design that I didn’t really focus on pictures as much as I should have. My favorite spaces were the living room (pictured above) by Robert Frank Interiors, the laundry room & bathroom designed by Dana Triano, and the terrace (pictured below) designed by Ederra Design Studio. I also LOVED the back staircase area designed by Jessica Today Designs.

In case you’re not already aware, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts is a non-profit organization that supports music enrichment in the Southern California area. All of the designers and administrators who work on the Showcase House are volunteers, and the ticket proceeds go to funding for the arts. If you live in the area, try to go this year. It’s amazing!
